A 30-year-old man was shot dead by police outside Toronto’s Pearson Airport in what officials described as an isolated incident with no further threat to public safety

A dramatic scene unfolded early Thursday morning at Toronto Pearson International Airport as Terminal 1 was placed on lockdown following an unknown incident. Frightened passengers were seen fleeing the area as heavily armed police officers stormed the terminal as one person has reportedly been shot.

The police said that the man had displayed a firearm. The shooting caused a partial shutdown of Canada’s busiest airport.
