The snake was taken into the custody of Rainforest Reptile Shows, according to the company's Vice President Mack Ralbovsky. It's currently living in a temporary habitat while they work with its RRS Oasis nonprofit to create a permanent home for their slithery new friend.

Employees at a New Hampshire grocery store had to call in authorities after discovering a venomous snake in a container of bananas on Feb. 15. The New Hampshire Fish and Game Law Enforcement Division said that the reptile was an ornate cat-eyed snake,

The employee found a snake — later identified as an Ornate Cat-eyed Snake, which officials say is a mildly venomous snake species native to Ecuador, New Hampshire Fish and Game wrote in a Facebook post. New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officer Griffin McKeown told WMUR-TV that a call reporting a venomous snake was a unique experience.
