Erik and Lyle Menendez’s resentencing hearings can continue, a Los Angeles judge ruled Friday –bringing the brothers a step closer to freedom after 30 years behind bars.

L.A. District Attorney Nathan Hochman was dealt a blow after his motion that his predecessor's request for the brothers' resentencing after 35 years was roundly rejected by a Superior Court judge.
