Police said the owner of the mini poodle tried to intervene and was bitten by the pit bull as well. Video footage of the pit bull's owner has been released.

Police in Santa Monica are asking for the public’s help in identifying the owner of a pit bull that killed a mini poodle on Friday.

She was walking her two miniature goldendoodles, Barkley and Sunny, at about 3 p.m. Thursday near Teays Valley East Middle School when she saw one pit bull near the entrance of the school's track.
