The Dallas Wings made the most unsurprising decision by selecting UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Bueckers now becomes the face of the Wings franchise for years to come after a legendary career at UConn, one which ended with a national title.

Bueckers has had a whirlwind week since helping UConn win its 12th national championship on April 6. She has split her time between New York and Connecticut doing morning and nighttime talk shows. On Sunday, she took part in the Huskies’ championship parade.

Here are some of the standout athletes, including Paige Bueckers of UConn, who changed her orange carpet outfit before being selected by the Dallas Wings with the No. 1 pick; Aziaha James, the Wings’ second pick at No. 12; and Hailey Van Lith of TCU, who went to the Chicago Sky at No. 11.
