Hiking shoes are lighter and comfier than boots, but they might not perform as well over long distances on rocky terrain.

If the traditional hiking sneaker is too casual for you, this is an excellent upgrade. Salomon's XT-6 just keeps ... The brand has a minimal shoe department, but we like what it makes.
