Once considered a contender to be the No. 1 overall pick, the Colorado quarterback was not selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Sanders — the son of Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders — was passed on by quarterback-needy teams including the Giants, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Miami QB Cam Ward was selected first overall by the Titans last night. Colorado WR/CB Travis Hunter followed after Jacksonville acquired the second pick from the Browns. The Giants selected Penn State edge Abdul Carter third overall before trading back into the first round to take Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart 25th.

Sanders — Colorado’s polarizing star quarterback — completely fell out of the first round Thursday night in the 2025 NFL Draft. In a shaky quarterback draft class, just two quarterbacks went in Round 1: Miami’s Cam Ward at No. 1 to the Titans and Mississippi’s Jaxson Dart at No. 25 to the Giants.
