Golf fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Tiger Woods play. The 15-time major champion abruptly withdrew from the Genesis Invitational this week, saying that he was still processing the death of his mother and isn’t ready to play. Kultida Woods died unexpectedly at the age of 80 on Feb. 4.

Tiger Woods and his foundation have played a vital role in hosting The Genesis in recent years, including moving the tournament to Torrey Pines in 2025 due to the Palisades fires

It would've been Woods' first tournament since July 2024, but the emotions following his mother's death led to his change of heart.
