BERKELEY — A person was struck and killed by a BART train on Friday morning, creating major delays for travelers between Richmond and Millbrae, the latest in a string of incidents on the transit system’s line that have made it a tough week for riders.

BERKELEY — BART train service on its red line stopped Friday morning between Berkeley and Millbrae following what BART officials were calling a major medical emergency near Berkeley. The trouble began about 6:30 a.m. following the incident near the North Berkeley station, BART spokesperson Michelle Robertson said.
