According to Spokane County Fire District 3, the reported brush fire broke out at Cheney Spokane Road near South Marshall Road late Tuesday morning.
A major brush fire at Schofield Barracks burned 570 acres but is 50% contained as the U.S. Army and federal firefighters continue to extinguish the blaze.
Firefighters are responding to a brush fire with multiple starts near the intersection of Cheney Spokane Road and South Marshall Road.
The fire shut down Southwest 8th Street since Saturday afternoon and has since reopened. Meanwhile, Krome Avenue from US-27 to Tamiami Trail is still closed.
The blaze was reported in the area of South Palm Avenue and East Santa Maria Street shortly after 3:20 p.m., according to initial reports.
