State police said a Jeep Wrangler was driving north on I-81 in wet, rainy conditions before the evening crash occurred.

One person is dead in a single-vehicle crash on I-81 northbound in Dauphin County, according to Pennsylvania State Police. PSP said the crash occurred on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 6:06 p.m., closing the roadway at the Manada exit for several hours.

The prolonged closing was caused by storm damage, as reported by other local news sources. In addition to closing the Colonial Park Mall, the storm impacted homes and residences in Lower Paxton Township, as reported by Penn Live. Local news sources reported flooding in buildings within the affected area.

The northbound side of Interstate 81 is closed through eastern Dauphin County after a fatal crossover crash Sunday evening, according to PennDOT.
