The last moments before Laken Riley was killed while out on a run on the University of Georgia's campus were shown in court Tuesday on the third day of the trial involving the murder of the 22-year-old nursing student.

An ex-roommate of Jose Ibarra, the Tren de Aragua-linked migrant accused of murdering University of Georgia student Laken Riley, implied in court Monday that the pair wound up in Athens, Ga., thanks to a “humanitarian flight” out of New York City.

Laken Riley murder suspect Jose Ibarra will return to court Monday for the second day of his trial. Ibarra is accused of attacking and killing Riley on her run on Feb. 22.

Testimony resumed Monday in the trial of the man accused of killing Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, a case that became a flashpoint in the national debate over immigration during this year's presidential campaign.

Prosecutor say that the man accused of killing Laken Riley "went hunting for females" on the University of Georgia campus before the nursing student's murder.
