The Dallas Cowboys showcased some of their selective aggression on the opening day of the NFL's legal tampering period by signing a replacement for free agent running back Rico Dowdle, who became the first undrafted running back in franchise history to rush for more than 1,

The NFL free agency period is underway, and the Dallas Cowboys remained relatively silent on the opening day. Dallas' most notable signing was running back Javonte Williams, who provides a capable talent in the backfield.

The newest Cowboy will turn 25 in April and already has four years of NFL experience under his belt. With Williams joining the roster, Dowdle’s playing career will continue elsewhere. Dowdle was Dallas’ leading rusher in 2024 with 1,079 yards on the ground.
