Kakao Entertainment recently spilled beans on the live-action adaptation project of Solo Leveling, and here is all you need to know.

Solo Leveling started as a web novel by Chugong and was adapted into a manhwa in 2018 with illustrations by Dubu. The anime adaptation, which premiered in January 2024, is produced by A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online), with motion graphics by Production I.G (Attack on Titan, PSYCHO-PASS).

With season 2 of the anime series now in full swing, South Korean production company Kakao Entertainment has just announced plans for a live-action adaptation. Solo Leveling originated as a South Korean web novel, exploring a portal fantasy adventure story about a monster hunter.

The live-action drama adaptation of the "Solo Leveling" (2016-21) franchise is in development on the back of the story's popularity among not only webtoon and web novel readers but also gamers and anime fans.

Based on a manhwa by author Chugong, Solo Leveling revolves around the story of Jinwoo, a hapless hunter struggling through dungeons full of monsters. One day, however, he stumbles upon 'The System', a program that allows him to level up and tackle increasingly fearsome threats.
