JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A piece of Jonesboro will be featured in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. Native Lycci Pan submitted a video audition to be an auxiliary member of the Macy’s Great American Marching Band in February. An auxiliary member is one of the people who twirl the flags in a marching band.

Over the years, Kahane has photographed the parade from her window, missing only two years, once for a vacation and once for a family birthday. Despite the collection of photographs she amassed over 25 parades, Kahane didn't do much with the images until the pandemic.

The parade at first featured Central Park Zoo animals escorted by Macy's employees and professional entertainers for 6 miles from 145th Street in north Manhattan's Harlem to Macy's.
