Cincinnati Reds' Wade Miley said he was 'never accused of any wrongdoing' in a brief statement on a report that he provided drugs to Tyler Skaggs.

Wade Miley is not facing criminal charges, and it’s not the first time his name has come up in relation to Skaggs’ death.

The agent of the late Tyler Skaggs said in a deposition that Skaggs told him he was using pain pills containing oxycodone that were provided by Reds left-hander Wade Miley.

Veteran right-hander Aaron Civale, bumped from the Milwaukee Brewers’ rotation by top prospect Jacob Misiorowski, has asked for a trade. Civale’s agent, Jack Toffey, said he made the request to Brewers general manager Matt Arnold after the team informed the pitcher he was moving to the bullpen.

Aaron Civale has always been a starting pitcher, and he wants to remain in that role, the right-hander said Thursday after The Athletic reported that his agent has asked the Brewers to make a trade rather than use Civale in relief.
