Researchers at the University of Virginia School of Medicine say this finding could open the door to better ways to manage high blood pressure and other vascular diseases.

"Influenza vaccination in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) reduces major adverse cardiac events and is strongly recommended in clinical practice guidelines," the study authors wrote.
