Areas along the coast and east of Portland began seeing wind gusts of around 40 mph late Tuesday afternoon, with the city expected to follow suit in the evening.

Portland’s wet stretch is expected to continue Tuesday, as a “bomb cyclone” hits the coast bringing wind, rain and high waves. Wind will also be an issue for Portland, where the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon through 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.
