Democrats and Republicans are responding to the speech, which Braun used to lay out his agenda for his time as Indiana's governor.

Speaking to the Bartholomew County commissioners, Fletcher said 151,235 individual claims have been made by local residents on the property. The office returns over $1 million of unclaimed property to Hoosiers every week, achieving a record of more than $81 million in 2023 alone, Fletcher told the commissioners.

On the ensuing Maryland possession, Indiana had a foul to give but failed to use it and guard Rodney Rice nailed a three-pointer to give the Terps a 79-78 lead with seven seconds left. After a timeout, Indiana botched its final possession and the boos rained down.

"I understand this tax relief will have an impact on local governments, but taxpayers are struggling, and we have to put their needs first," Gov. Mike Braun said.
