TORONTO (AP) — A 30-year-old man was shot dead by police outside Toronto’s Pearson Airport on Thursday morning, officials said, in what was described as an isolated incident with no further threat to public safety.

A dramatic scene unfolded early Thursday morning at Toronto Pearson International Airport as Terminal 1 was placed on lockdown following an unknown incident. Frightened passengers were seen fleeing the area as heavily armed police officers stormed the terminal.

Police shot and killed a man at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport on Thursday morning after authorities said he displayed a gun. The victim was identified only as a man in his 30s.
