BBC Weather forecasters have predicted the date temperatures will soar to 17C with clear skies in the capital after London is hit with its first bout of rain in three weeks.

Snow is expected across Scotland from April 19, with a weekend shift towards wintriness in the coming days as maps and charts turn purple.
