Former Republican Representative and attorney general nominee Matt Gaetz was quizzed by Bill Maher on accusations that he had paid for sex and engaged in sex with an "underage girl." Newsweek has reached out to a representative for Gaetz outside of normal working hours for comment.

Maher's interview with Matt Gaetz comes weeks after the former representative resigned from Congress and launched his own show and podcast.

In an hourlong episode of the Club Random with Bill Maher podcast, the comedian pressed Gaetz on long-simmering allegations that he paid women—including a 17-year-old still in high school—for sex.
