Columbus' 3-game win streak came to an end against Dallas, with the status of several Blue Jackets in question after the game.

Dallas's first three goals were preceded by what the game referees could have easily called penalties. Before two of their first three goals, Dante Fabbro took an elbow to the head, and Kent Johnson was hooked down. Both were not called, and both led to goals within seconds.

The loss ended a three-game winning streak for the Blue Jackets (26-20-7), who lost defenseman Dante Fabbro and top scorer Kirill Marchenko to upper-body injuries and had star defenseman Zach Werenski miss time in the second period for a medical assessment.
