Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla will become the second Indian to go to space after Rakesh Sharma. He was selected for the upcoming Indo-US mission to the International Space Station (ISS) last year.

Indian Air Force (IAF) officer and ISRO astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla is set to become the pilot for NASA’s Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) which is a private spaceflight to be launched to the International Space Station (ISS) in summers 2025.

In 2019, Shukla underwent astronaut training at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Russia. He was later selected by ISRO for Gaganyaan mission—the country's first human spaceflight program.
