Iran has warned it will ramp up its nuclear activities after the United Nations nuclear watchdog’s 35-member board of governors adopted a resolution Thursday declaring it in breach of its non-proliferation obligations.

Iran reacted immediately, saying it will establish a new enrichment facility “in a secure location” and that “other measures are also being planned.”

Iran announced its third nuclear enrichment facility, escalating tensions following a UN censure over non-compliance with nonproliferation obligations. The International Atomic Energy Agency's censure could lead to restored sanctions.
