CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Kemp's ridley sea turtle nesting season has officially begun on the Padre Island National Seashore!

Kemp's ridley sea turtles nest on Texas beaches from April through mid-July. Beachgoers should be careful as the endangered turtles cross the sand.

From stunned to splashing around, crowds of people cheered as groups of rehabilitated sea turtles crawled their way off a windy North Carolina beach Monday and back home to the Atlantic Ocean.

Critically endangered sea turtles from the New England Aquarium were released back into the ocean in Fort Fisher, North Carolina after months of rehabilitative care.
