Plemons will play a young Plutarch Heavensbee, originated by the late Hoffman in the film franchise, in the upcoming Haymitch Abernathy prequel "Sunrise on the Reaping."

Jesse Plemons is stepping into the shoes of late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman. Plemons will star in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping as Plutarch Heavensbee, the character Hoffman portrayed in his final film roles, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Parts 1 and 2. He joins stars Joseph Zada, Whitney Peak and Mckenna Grace.

Sunrise On The Reaping follows the 50th Hunger Games (a.k.a. the Second Quarter Quell), in which twice as many tributes are chosen from each district. That includes the eventual District 12 victor Haymitch Abernathy,
