A bill that would require Alabama public schools to display the Ten Commandments has passed the Alabama House of Representatives. The sponsor, Rep. Mark Gidley, R-Gadsden, is a pastor.

These bills would require each board of education to display a copy of the Ten Commandments in a common area of each school.

Unwilling to be outdone by its neighbor, Texas Senate passed a bill that would require the Ten Commandments be posted in classrooms.
