Woods has had plenty of success on the South Course at Torrey Pines, including a memorable win over Rocco Mediate at the 2008 U.S. Open. He also has conquered the South Course numerous other times, winning the Farmers Insurance Open on seven occasions. He most recently did so in 2013, the last time he won the PGA Tour’s Player of the Year Award.

Tiger Woods has committed to playing the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines, returning to one of his favorite venues for his first PGA Tour start since the British Open last July.

Tiger Woods will return to the PGA Tour for the upcoming Genesis Invitational. The tournament announced Friday that Woods, the event host, will be in the field for next week's tournament, which will be contested at Torrey Pines' South Course outside of San Diego, California.
