CHICAGO — Walter Payton College Preparatory High School in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood ranks No. 1 on a list of best high schools in Illinois and places No. 5 when ranked nationally.

Payton College Preparatory High School, located on the Near North Side of Chicago, was ranked No. 5 in the nation. In total, five Illinois high schools were ranked in the top 100 nationwide.
