In the wake of a powerful arctic cold front Tuesday night, temperatures Wednesday morning sank to 34 degrees shortly before dawn at Bush Intercontinental Airport, Houston’s official climate observation site.

A Wind Advisory is in effect until noon Wednesday with winds in the 20 to 25mph range and gusts occasionally above 35 mph. Highs will be in the low to mid 40s with wind chills in the 20s and 30s.

There is a slight chance for a few strong storms Tuesday evening as a strong cold front moves through. The primary risk will is isolated hail. Some spots could also pick up 1 to 2 inches of rain, which could lead to isolated street flooding.
