According to A-State’s Facebook post, the Mascot Selection Steering Committee, students, alumni, and the community collaborated to choose the red wolf as the school’s mascot in 2008.

Ultimately, the board elected to table the item, electing to solicit more input from the community before voting on whether to change the school’s mascot from the Corsairs to the Wolves.
