Jayson Tatum scored 26 of his 28 points in the first half, and the Boston Celtics routed the Atlanta Hawks 123-93 on Monday night for their third straight win.

Tatum led the team with 28 points, six rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and six threes. His performance through the first eight games has been astonishing, and seems like he has no intention of slowing down. Tatum’s supporters were Derrick White, with 21 points, Payton Pritchard with 18 points off the bench, and Jrue Holiday with 16 points.

During a recent appearance on Jeff Teague's "Club 520" podcast, Tatum admitted that after being drafted by Boston, he quickly contacted his agent for a trade. The reason behind his initial uncertainty with the franchise was the fact they acquired Gordon Hayward shortly after drafting Tatum with the third overall pick.

The Atlanta Hawks were blown out by the Boston Celtics on Monday night and to make matters worse, they lost star guard Trae Young to an injury. Young exited late in the contest with a sprained rib and never returned, per the Team's X page.

Celtics shooting guard Jaylen Brown will miss his third consecutive game when the Warriors come to town as he deals with injury, as Boston officially ruled him out Tuesday with a left hip flexor strain.
