Mariners star catcher Cal Raleigh, who leads MLB in home runs, is the only qualified backstop in the American League with a higher OPS (1.173) than Narváez (.834). He could’ve been the perfect right-handed platoon option with Wells this year.

For a front office that has taken plenty of well-deserved slings and arrows for its roster management, landing Carlos Narváez in December in exchange for pitching prospect Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz is a win they will happily take.
