The U.S. Army will take control of almost 110,000 acres of federal land along the U.S.-Mexico border to support Border Patrol operations.

The city witnessed a bitter controversy over the removal of a Confederate statue in Travis Park in 2017. It's been in storage at an undisclosed site ever since.
