The trade war between China and the United States is rapidly evolving after a massive tit-for-tat on tariffs between the world’s two biggest economies.

President Donald Trump and his advisers have softened their trade war language about China in recent days, hinting at a possible reduction in tariffs – perhaps by more than half. But even a steep drop from 145% to somewhere around 50% would keep us firmly in trade war territory.
