Police initially responded to a threat at the middle school, according to communications sent to parents and obtained by FOX61. While officers searched the middle school, the high school was reportedly placed under a "red alert" while the elementary schools were under a "yellow alert."

There’s some relief this morning in East Hampton following concerns about a possible active shooter at the middle school. Lockdowns have been lifted, however, police will be adding extra patrols to make students and staff feel safe.
