Tight end Evan Engram heard from a pair of AFC West teams after he was released by the Jaguars, but the Broncos were able to beat out the Chargers when it came to signing the veteran as a free agent.

The Denver Broncos landed veteran tight end Evan Engram in free agency this offseason. Engram drew interest from Denver and the Los Angeles Chargers but ultimately signed a two-year deal with the Broncos based on his meeting with head coach Sean Payton.

Broncos coach Sean Payton prioritized finding a "Joker" player this offseason to help open the offense for quarterback Bo Nix. The team believes they added that player in tight end Evan Engram.
