The Walt Disney Co., Fox Corp. and Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. are scrapping plans to create a joint sports streaming service, just days after settling a lawsuit brought against the three companies alleging the platform would squelch competition.

Last year, all the buzz was about how ESPN, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery were set to create a new joint streaming service called Venu Sports that would give viewers one place to watch all the sports. It was given a price ($42.99 a month!) and then was inevitably challenged in court.

Venu was announced in 2024 as a slimmed-down streaming package carrying the channels that would have offered such channels as ESPN.
