The Green Bay Packers have released two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander, CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones confirms. Alexander is now free to sign with another team. The two sides previously agreed to explore trade options while working on a contract restructure.

Rapoport followed up to report the Packers and Alexander agreed to see what trade avenues they might have and considered restructuring his contract. Albert Breer of The MMQB reported in April the two-time Pro Bowler preferred an outright release so he'd have more freedom in choosing his next team.

The Bills had trade talks with the Packers about Jaire Alexander. The two-time Pro Bowler is now a free agent after being released by Green Bay.
