Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has left the door open for Chelsea with regards to a future deal for Jamie Gittens. Chelsea were in talks to sign Gittens in time to be registered in their squad for the Club World Cup tournament which gets underway in the USA this weekend.
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has said the club "looked very seriously" at an offer from Chelsea for winger Jamie Gittens.
According to Sky Germany, Chelsea have followed up their initial €35m (£29.5m) bid, which was rejected by Dortmund, with a new offer of €50m (£42.2m). However, Dortmund have turned down Chelsea’s improved offer and the Bundesliga side are holding out for a €65m (£54.9m) deal for the 20-year-old.
