Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reviewed the performance of 7 Regional Rural Banks in the North East. She urged them to boost credit disbursement under various Government schemes. She called for increased credit for agriculture and allied activities.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has directed the Income Tax Department to review court cases lost over the last decade. The goal is to reduce future litigation. She also suggested hiring expert tax law advocates and printing the names of assessing officers on assessment orders to ensure accountability.
