Nissan Motor estimated billions of dollars in net loss for the fiscal year ended March due to impairments and restructuring expenses.

Nissan Motor sees a record net loss of 700 billion yen to 750 billion yen ($4.91 billion-$5.26 billion) for the financial year that ended in March, it said on Thursday, due to impairment charges as the struggling automaker restructures.

Nissan has warned of its biggest-ever annual loss of up to ¥750bn ($5.3bn) on the back of higher than expected restructuring costs as the ailing Japanese car company faces a new frontier of financial pressures from US President Donald Trump’s tariff war.
