A seawall will protect infrastructure from climate change, but beach advocates fear it will destroy Ocean Beach

The California Coastal Commission has approved a project to build a more than 3,000-foot-long buried seawall along the southern portion of Ocean Beach in San Francisco.

The project also includes plans for a portion of the city's Great Highway be permanently closed to car traffic to create public trails and beach access for pedestrians.
