The sequel will be released only in theaters on Sept. 12, while Bleecker Street will also re-release a newly restored version of the original “This Is Spinal Tap” in theaters nationwide this summer.

The film will get a wide release on September 12, and in anticipation of that, Bleecker Street is also re-releasing a newly-restored edition of the 1984 original film back in to theaters this summer.

In a coup for Bleecker Street, the distributor has acquired US rights to Rob Reiner’s mockumentary sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues and the original 1984 cult classic This Is Spinal Tap.

Director Rob Reiner said: 'So happy to be working with the folks at Bleecker Street who are passionate about keeping Tap's legacy alive and happy to give Marty DiBergi another shot at relevancy.' ...
