The jury in the trial of footballer Jesse Lingard’s grandfather has retired to consider its verdicts. Kenneth Lingard, 86, is accused of sexually abusing a girl from the age of five.

A former police officer who ran a paddleboarding company has been jailed for 10 years and six months after four people drowned during an excursion on a river in south-west Wales.
