The Texas Education Agency on Thursday morning released 2-year-old academic accountability scores for school districts and campuses statewide, giving parents the first full picture of how the state has rated public schools since 2019.

The release comes after the TEA prevailed in a lawsuit which challenged the legality of changes to the rating system.

Houston-area schools slightly outperformed state averages in the 2023 Texas Education Agency accountability ratings released on Thursday, but the region still has 347 campuses that received either a "D" or "F.
