Texas won its first NCAA softball championship Friday night, beating Texas Tech 10-4 in Game 3 of the Women's College World Series championship series in Oklahoma City.

Texas Tech ended softball titan Oklahoma’s four-year reign at the summit of college softball to set up an all-Texas Women’s College World Series (WCWS) finals against the UT Longhorns.

The Texas softball team left behind recent Women's College World Series heartbreak and experienced a new emotion Friday: championship euphoria. The Longhorns beat Texas Tech 10-4 in the winner-take-all third game of the WCWS finals in Oklahoma City to capture the first title in program history.
