A recall of organic, bagged whole and baby carrots sold at Trader Joe's, Publix, Wegmans and other retailers around the country has been linked to an E. coli outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. E. coli is a bacteria that can cause serious illness when consumed by certain populations.

Aldi, Trader Joe's, Walmart and many other grocery stores are recalling organic carrots linked to a deadly E. coli outbreak.

So far, there have been 39 illnesses and at least one death in connection with the outbreak reported in over a dozen states.
