The college basketball offseason is now in full swing, and with it, USC men’s basketball has seen significant roster turnover. On Tuesday, the Trojans picked up perhaps their biggest addition of the offseason to date in Maryland transfer Rodney Rice. This offsets the blow created by the departure of Desmond Claude in the portal.

Although some within the Maryland fanbase were hoping that Rodney Rice would withdrawal his name from the portal and remain in College Park, that hope vanished on Tuesday. Instead of staying put, Rice announced his commitment to the USC Trojans.

Maryland men’s basketball fans who had hoped that Rodney Rice might return to the program received bad news Tuesday.
